We welcome growers of all experience levels — whether you are picking up a spade for the first time or bringing years of growing experience with you, there is a place for you at Hessle Grove.

We have a variety of plot sizes on site to suit different needs and circumstances — from smaller plots ideal for beginners or those with limited time, to larger plots for more ambitious growing. When a plot becomes available we will discuss the options with you and try to match you to something suitable.

WHAT WE ASK OF PLOTHOLDERS

A community commitment

Hessle Grove is a community site run entirely by its members. In addition to tending your plot, all tenants are expected to contribute to the upkeep of the site — attending working parties and helping to maintain communal paths, boundaries, and shared spaces throughout the year. This is what makes the site work well for everyone.

It is also worth knowing before you join that the site is accessed on foot only via Snakey Alley (Public Footpath 18). There is no vehicle access and no parking — Hessle Grove is a private road. There is no toilet on site.
